Job Description

Our client, one of the largest professional services companies in Pennsylvania, has partnered with us to find a talented and experienced Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist must have experience processing payroll for a large employee population (1000+), multi-state, union and nonunion payroll and experience working with the entire life-cycle of payroll: garnishments, benefits, reconcile and balance employee withholding accounts, 401K, etc. Experience with ADP Workforce Now is needed.

Salary/Rate: 
Temp-to-perm $55K – $80K

Position Overview:
The ideal Payroll Specialist will be extremely organized, have a great eye for detail, self-starter and an extremely motivated individual. Must have experience utilizing ADP Workforce Now and experience processing multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities for the Payroll Specialist:

  • The Payroll Specialist will assist in processing biweekly, multi-state payroll, annual bonuses, etc.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of payroll procedure and processes for all recurring payroll functions in the AD Payroll process
  • Process time and attendance 
  • Maintain records for all employees in the payroll system. Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job title and department/division transfers etc.
  • Compile payroll data; Enter data or computes and reconcile to ensure accuracy of payroll and maintain payroll records.
  • Process direct deposits, tax forms and garnishments
  • Ensure that payroll is accurately tracked and processed for multiple sites in multiple states
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and individual business units to establish and administer any new procedures relating to payroll administration
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist:

  • 3-6 years of processing payroll
  • Experience processing and handling multiple payroll’s
  • Experience with garnishments/benefits/W-4s
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll practices and processes
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now I needed
  • CPP is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Education Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree preferred
