Job Description

Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to assist with managing workflow and assisting with payroll within a Manufacturing Company. The office is located in Bergen County Jersey with offices across the tri-state and is looking to expand. They offer a large campus with many onsite amenities and easy access to major highways to ease with the commute.

 $17-20 an hour

Position Overview:
The Payroll Specialist should ideally have strong Excel experience. They will work directly with the Payroll Manager and interact with various departments. This position would be best suited for a self-starter who has a background in payroll processing and experience with operations.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist: 

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Work on different Client portal to gather time sheets
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks

Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist:

  • Candidate should have good overall understanding of payroll
  • Experience with ADP products; Work Force Now and iReports preferred
  • Excel skills – pivot tables, Vlookup; advanced Excel skills a plus
  • Possesses general math skills
  • Remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in work environment
  • Study and apply new information, and take initiative
  • Excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skill

Education Requirements: 

  • Associates Degree Preferred
