Job Description

Our client is seeking to bring an experienced Bookkeeper onto a growing team at an innovative Non-Profit firm. Located in the Essex County, New Jersey area, our client is offering this multi-faceted long-term temporary to permanent Bookkeeper position that provides a terrific work environment where effort is rewarded. 

Salary/Hourly Rate: $18 – 23/h

Position Overview: As the temporary to permanent Bookkeeper, responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of billing and accounts receivable, performing collections actions, posting revenue and expenses and the assist office manager with administrative functions. 

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper: 

  • Maintain accounting filing system
  • Ensure accurate billing and accounts receivable
  • Ensure clients pay in a timely fashion
  • Send invoices and quotes to customers
  • Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Process credit card payments
  • Post revenues and expenses into general ledger, AP/AR
  • Communicate professionally at all times with customers via telephone and emails
  • Matching and verifying billable hours
  • Recording all account payables

Qualifications for the Bookkeeper: 

  • Applicants must be proficient in QuickBooks & Excel
  • Experience in accounts reconciliation/accounts receivable /accounts payable
  • Organized and ability to retrieve information immediately
  • Disciplined, strong work ethics, self-starter, team player, diligent, honest, ethical and positive in their thinking and business outlook
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s / Associates Degree in Accounting or related
