Our client is an independently-owned, top insurance company that offers commercial property/casualty insurance services to commercial clients in the U.S. They specialize in insurance programs for a variety of industries including; construction & development, food & beverage, real estate & property management, solar/renewable energy and wholesale & retailers. They are seeking an excellent Administrative Assistant for their firm in Walnut Creek, California.

$18-22/hour starting off DOE

Position Overview: The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Account Managers and internal office personnel. This position is an excellent way for entry-level candidates and recent college grads to get their feet wet and streamline their career in insurance. Additional responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant can be seen below. 

Responsibilities of the  Administrative Assistant:

  • Review and issue Certificates of Insurance and process within one business day upon receipt of request
  • Enter and update data in Excel spreadsheets
  • Support the preparation of specifications, proposals, and summaries
  • Enter policy and client information into the Agency Management System (Applied)
  • Process change requests, and verify the accuracy of endorsements and premium audits
  • Prepare and distribute Auto ID cards, order reports, and conduct initial policy checking
  • Deliver high customer service to clients via phone and email
  • Assist with other projects as needed
  • Educate oneself on a variety of industries and read through documents

Qualifications for the  Administrative Assistant:

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant 
  • Experience in insurance is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook is required
  • Hungry for knowledge and hardworking professional demeanor
  • Excellent team player and reliable
  • A California P&C insurance license is preferred, but not required

Educations Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Business Management or related with coursework in Risk Management or Commercial Insurance
