Our client, a growing manufacturing and distributor who plans to expand nationally, is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist / Bookkeeper to grow with them. Some of their services and products include equipment, equipment repair, services, office supplies and customization services. Salary/Hourly Rate: $17-$20/hr


Position Overview: The selected candidate for this Accounts Payable Specialist / Bookkeeper position will work primarily with accounts payable in computerized accounting system. They will be provided with some AR training for support. 

Responsibilities of the  Accounts Payable Specialist / Bookkeeper: 

  • Post inventory receipts
  • Cut checks
  • Post credit card statement
  • Monitor AP aging
  • Produce PO’s to pay vendors
  • Produce management reporting through excel (Pivot Table and VLOOKUP usage)
  • Will perform invoicing and collection calls in a backup role as AR
Qualifications for the  Accounts Payable Specialist / Bookkeeper: 
  • 1-4 Year bookkeeping or related role
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Sage MAS 90 and/or Sage 100
  • MS Office, specifically Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Conditioning)
  • Incumbent needs to reside near Jersey City 
Education Requirements: 
  • Minimum Associates Degree
